Looks like I'm going to end up in Baltimore for the weekend of Sept. 11-12.  I'm workin' Sunday and then flying home.  But I'll likely have Sat free to futz around (I may have time Fri night too, depending on which flight I get outta SF).  The folks I know in D.C. all seem to be occupied, so I'm solo.

Anyone wanna grab some food and/or throw back a beer or twelve?  Are there good twisties close enough that I should think about renting a bike and going for a spin?  Any other suggestions for a single day tourist?

Thanks in advance, gang.

Welcome to my hood :D

I am working the morning of the 11th but that evening I might be able to make some free time. There are some great twisties north and southeast of the city, if you have the means I would say it would be worth renting a bike if you're willing to drive an hour outside of the city.

Come on down to DC and go for a ride with us.  There's a spare bike in my garage.   [thumbsup]

Tempting. . . . so tempting.  And such a generous offer.

I'm still trying to nail down my flights and plans, but I'll see if I can swing by D.C.

Not to taunt.. but I just mapped a route for a planned ride that is looking to be pretty damn epic.

Very tempting except headed out on a mystery ride for Zooom's birthday that weekend - leaving on Saturday morning and coming back Sunday....can only say that there will be  [drink] involved.
Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

How does one join such and epic even in the baltimore area?  I want to tag along on some rides to meet some people and learn some good roads.

Join the Baltimore Area Ducati group on Facebook. I hate promoting anything Facebook related but it is handy for planning rides.

We're going to the VIVA ITALIA show at Rash Field (Inner Harbor) and going on a long ride either before or after (3-4 hours). The route is here: http://www.mapmyride.com/view_route?r=319128344339965642

Looks like I'm just doing a drive-by -- flying in Sat night, working Sun and then hopping back on a plane Sun night.

I'll have to catch up with y'all the next time around.    [drink]

Don't worry, they don't have to go to waste.  Just leave 'em at the front desk of my hotel and I'll see if I can land a hooker at the hotel bar with a promise of a cupcake party.    ;D
