SO...I have tried to see if these LED dual sided indicators from Oberon would fit and clear the front of my S2R 800 with the fairing. I have seen several bikes here with them but they didn't have the fairing installed. I hope the below information will help in the event you decide to run these.
If you try to install the Oberon signals in the stock location from where the old indicators were then about 30% of the indicator will be covered by the fairing and the stock signals also act as a rubber mount for the fairing. The use of Rizoma turn signal spacers will bring them out enough to clear. I chose not to do this as I wanted a nice and tight fit and almost drilled new holes until my mechanic and I noticed another option of where to place them.
We discovered the hardware that holds the headlamp to the mount was the same thread spec as the indicators (M-8). So...after a few test fits and some thin suspension shims used to get the right placement...we replaced the stock headlamp hardware with the Oberon indicators themselves. They are fully clear of the fairing and now have all the room needed to be seen in front of, behind, and next to me...if I signal to indicate a turn...you WILL see it. The Oberon's are billet and with a dab of blue threadlock we snugged them down...do not muscle them down.
The wiring was super easy as the wires went into the headlamp bucket via the mounting points that are hollow and were run out of the grommet seal on the bottom of the headlamp with the other wires...it took about 20 minutes to get it all wired and ready.
The Oberon indicators are awesome and super trick and highest quality. I cant stress enough how well they indicate forward and backward so people behind you or maybe next to you will see you indicate a turn clear as day...these are bright. I feel these indicators match the lines of the bike well and keep that subtle look.
