ECU Issue

I have been having starting issues with my '03 Monster 1000DS.
Pulled the 2 plugs off the ECU and the was some corrosion one a couple pins.
I used contact cleaner and cleaned them up but in the process one was so corroded it broke off.
Now when I turn the key the everything acts normal but when I push the ignition switch nothing happens at all and I am assuming this is due to the now missing pin.  Starting problem before was the bike would turn over but never fire off so this is different then before.
Do I need a new ECU or can I just get the pin section that will go onto my ECU?
If I need a new ECU does that mean I need a new ignition assembly to go with the ECU so the immobilizer will let the bike start?

Come on boys and girls.
I'm sure someone here has killed an ECU and knows if I can just get a new one or have a suggestion what else I can replace it with.
(and yes I am impatient and want to ride)

IMO, if you broke a pin off of the ECU, it's done, not repairable.

If you get a for sure brand new (IE from a dealer) ECU, and you have the red key, you should be back in business.
Confirm that at your dealer of choice first....

OK. I have the red key.  Guess I'll call around for pricing on a new one.
My local dealer isn't the cheapest guy around.  I like to support the locals but not when it hurts the wallet to bad.

Take it easy and try to be as patient as possible.  From my experience it pays. Try to relax; you'll be fine.

Go with DesmoPorsche, they have stock, stock flashed to DP spec, and everything in between. Without a core it's around $450 I think. That is a lot less than your dealer will quote.

ECU`s have been repaired before, although i haven't read about this specific problem. But soldering has been done, diodes switched out etc.

Give an experienced car electronics/tuning shop a shot and see what they say.
it`s only a pin, trouble could be to find a new one.
Maybe take one from a fried one?

nothing left to solder it too so not sure that's possible at all.

I know with plugs at work, you can replace pins, I'm not the guy doing this, but very common to re-pin plugs and connectors.

I ment replacing pin if possible.
