Absolutely the wrong thing to do after hitting the concrete. Unfortunately we do not see the rest of the video. Hope he's OK. Intersections are the worst. I always slow down, cover the levers, and scan
all
vehicles. Head-on with an suv, surprised he didn't get run over.

Do a search for him - he has had all sorts of national TV interviews and I am sure medical scans. He is a starter for a big 10 top 10 football team - I am sure he has gotten a lot of attention us regulars wouldn't.
Basically it is proof every crash is slightly different, nothing is absolute, and I think he just won the lottery. A few inches a couple different directions and he is dead.

Why is it that in so many accidents (bikes, cars, boats, etc) people have their shoes fly off. And not just slip-on's, but sneakers, too.

The big difference is most people don't need ice cubes to turn theirs on.

Always wondered about the same thing... It could be the centrifugal force that pulls your shoe off when you're spinning in the air...

Get a headlight modulator, they are 1000% better than just hi-beam

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

On my 03 620, I have the bright trigger, I often use it like a modulator when going through intersections with an oncoming lefty......I'm certain it's saved my ass a few times.

Driving my cage and seeing a headlight modulator makes me want to swerve right into the bike. I don't mind constant high beams, but the high frequency flashing makes me almost road rage. It really affects my eyes.
On my bike, I usually give a couple high beam flashes when approaching an intersection for a heads up. I don't think it affects other drivers like a modulator because it looks similar to just hitting a dip in the road and having the light beam hit your eye once or twice.

Thank God I've never seen you on the road... !
I usually get VERY good response from cars while riding. Very often ppl will change lanes to let me pass...

I have to agree with mitt and Rameses, when I see a bike coming towards me with thier headlight flashing, it is extremely distracting. I understand the point of being seen, but the flashing really f's with my eyes. To the point of not loosing focus. Almost like I'm being drawn towards the light.
