Heading to Leeds in the UK on Saturday, anybody know any cool places to eat or things to do? Will probably have a few evenings free at most, and no car. Will be there a week but long work days... So not a lot of extra time.

The weather sucks over there right now.

You'll want to jump off a bridge.

bring a raincoat.

(I work for a british company, so let me contact a good friend of mine about Leeds. Of course he'll probably bash it since he isn't from there or hates their premiership team)

OK-OK I,ve just re-read and see hes not got a car.. [bang]  it is just turned 3pm .. :-[

Well any way he could still hire a car because the weekend 11th-12th sept is a round of the British Superbikes at croft circuit which is north of Leeds and is a hard fought championship plus if you go north into the Yorkshire dales there are lots of fantastic roads and at weekends the cafes in some of the villages are buzzing with bikers, "Hawes, Leyburn, Bedale etc." to name just afew of the villages. If you go east afew miles from Leeds theres a biker cafe at Sherburn-in-Elmet called "Squires" and again at weekends that place is manic.. [thumbsup]

Hope thats of some help Ryan.. [drink] and if you don't mind Mr humorlessdp I'll head off back to bed.. ;) ;)

My flight leaves at noon Sept 11 and I get into Leeds around noon on Sunday the 12th. Sunday afternoon is probably my only free afternoon, and the jet lag will be killing me. How far is croft circuit? Will google it.

re jet lag: don't worry about it. Pop a few benzo's, drink some liquor, and pass out on the plane.

Do not take a nap when you get there.

REPEAT

do not nap when you get there, force yourself to stay up all day and go to bed at a reasonable hour.

You'll be fine in the AM.

I guess Leeds is also hosting a huge cricket match against Pakistan on Sunday as well. Motorcycle racing or cricket.... Choices.... Lol.  I need to find a good pub with a billiards table.

Don't know if they do billiards over there.

Darts would be NFP.

My friend Steve lives in Leeds. You wont like him. He drinks beer and rides motorbikes.  [laugh]
