Of all the super-charged emotions I've had while on a motorcycle, being embarrassed to be on one has never really been one of them, until this morning.

Traffic was thick, I was doing that lane sharing thing (calmly, smoothly, respectfully, etc.), and out of nowhere this dude on a Harley bagger shoots out from between some cars, nearly crashing into me and off he goes in front of me lane "sharing" down the same path.

Fine, I don't own the road by any means, but A he almost wiped me out, and B this bagger (and this isn't an HD put down post, I dig most all forms of two wheel fun) is way too wide to really lane share down this particular road, so he's revving his engine wildly every other second, weaving like crazy, giving people the hard turn and stare if they don't instantly move as he revs and tries to go by, tossing out the occasional hand gesture and generally being a total J-hole (jack azz + a hole).

I can see a number of people shaking their heads as he goes by and he proceeds to do this despite having to come to a dead stop at times since his bagger is too wide, at which point he revs more wildly and shouts until someone moves and can squeeze by.

So here I am behind him now, trying to get to work for a meeting on time, but really wanting to just pull off the road until he's gone as it was just embarrassing to be near this dude. I felt guilty by association being also on two wheels and lane sharing.

I know lane sharing in and of itself makes some people angry, but I can't help but think that dudes (or dudettes) who ride this way will just further push people to be in favor of laws like SB 435.   bang head

I see a new bike model in the works: The Harley Douchebagger.

Thus guy's a make the beast with two backshole. But cagers will use any excuse they can find to ban filtering.

Didn't know bad riding was brand specific.

Not saying it is. There's plenty of make the beast with two backstardery to go round.

True that.

So much motorcycle hate in this thread.

Just pointing out that my original post wasn't about brand hate, just describing the facts of the scene. Still can't believe what a jackazz that dude was. It may read like a common scene, but man that was some over the top shite like I've never seen.

I'm not sure that guy even knew how to ride a motorcycle.  I was impressed that he managed to stay on the bike after the car bumped him a little.

As tempting as it might be, no way. If there's one thing that raises my ire more than douchebaggery in a vehicle, it's that. Glad they caught that on film.
