ciao a tutti,

the 7th annual la ducat day is coming up on october 17th, in la honda california.  this all day event is a 100% free to attend gathering, that supports the la honda volunteer fire brigade (the good folks who pick us up when we crash while riding in the santa cruz mountains) … so a great group to support if you ride ANY brand motorcycle.

for complete information on LDD2010, please browse to: http://www.norcaldoc.com/LDD2010

LDD2010 runs from 10am until 5pm, and we are seeking volunteers to help manage/support the following events and shifts throughout the day:

  • Ducati Garage Challenge: 10am - 12pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 4:30pm
  • Monster Challenge: 1pm - 2:30pm, 2:30pm - 4pm
  • Concorso: 9am - 11am, 11am - 1pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 5pm
  • Slow Races: 10am - 12pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 5pm
  • Ticket Sales for Raffle: 9am - 11am, 11am - 1pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 5pm
  • Auction Booth: 9am - 11am, 11am - 1pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 5pm
  • Parking Area:  9am - 11am, 11am - 1pm, 1pm - 3pm, 3pm - 5pm

all volunteers will receive a very cool LDD2010 staff tee shirt, and the everlasting gratitude of the la honda volunteer fire brigade (plus, a bunch of good karma).

if you are interested in volunteering, please PM me here to advise the event and shift you are interested in helping out with, and also advise your tee shirt size.

grazie mille in avance.

ciao a presto,
johnc

I'm hoping to make the group ride up there (hoping there is one!) so I'm a little hesitant to sign up for any shifts just yet.  What's entailed with the first three on the list?

I second that, otherwise, I wouldn't mind selling raffle tickets, or judging by the photos from previous years, parking lot detail might be pretty nifty.

I did parking lot duty one year.  It's easy and you get to see all the cool bikes that come in.  Some people are just retarded and that is sort of an annoyance.  My t-shirt was also size XXXL, so I struck out on that one JOHN.  At least the Leo Vince people had the decency to send me kids' sized stuff when I came in second in the music challenge.   [cheeky]

edit:  Hey, Lor, you still interested in those old phones of ours?  PM me.

I'll volunteer for the 9-11 am ticket sales for the raffle.

Can you head out this way this weekend John? We have some stuff to discuss.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

excellent ... but instead of ticket sales (we are stooping to the more base marketing instinct of using hot umbrella girls dressed in skimpy outfits to sell raffle tickets) ... can you help out in the concorso area from 10-12?  and what tee shirt size are you, so i can place a staff tee aside for you to wear at the event?

for the stuff we need to discuss, can you PM me with your phone number, so i can call to set up a time/place?

ciao,

I have a couple of questions:

Does anyone know if LeoVance exhaust is a requirement for the Ducati Music Challenge?
and
Will the Ducati Monster Display area be clearly marked so I know where to go?

Thanks!

Popeye the Sailor

1) No

2) I have no clue but there be volunteers who'll tell you where to go.

La Honda isn't big-I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW - The D-Store has graciously offered to host a meeting point (potentially with bagels, etc) for a ride down:

Those of ya'll begging for help can tell the help what's going on, maybe?

No, but it probably doesn't hurt.  I got second place one year and no one but Moses knows what the heck is on my bike.

Yes.  The area is super-small.  It's like a backyard.  Just ask anyone or walk to the one area where the Monsters are on the grass and not in the parking lot.
