This one would probably be my first purchase for mine in the spring.

That evotech unit looks really sturdy... Is there a US distributor?
EDIT
this guys says he's the sole US distributor for evotech...

I would recommend the Evotech. I have the R&G, which is an extremely high quality piece but has a few fitment problems.

IMHO, if you want simplicity, go with the Evotech. The CW kit from what I have read is thin with many sharp edges and comes in unpainted aluminum. Evotech and R&G is solid ~1/8" (guess) thick aluminum and painted.

This might help a bit

I spoke to Simon at R&G about the issues they have and he assures me they are going to double check the issue again.

I've got the evotech and like it, but if I had to do it over again I might try the one from Desmoworks.

We wont talk about how much time I've spent, over the last year or so, pouring over vendor websites, youtube, google image search, etc, in the process of making a wishlist for a bike. I've also collected M796 pics as the wallpaper/background to every digital device I own...

All for a bike I won't put money down on till March/April.

I should get professional help with my obsessive traits... but then I wouldn't be able to afford the bike

So what's the total cost for these pieces of hardware?
Is this thing on?

Ohlins front and rear could be obtained, with installation by dealer if needed, for approximately 3k
BST wheels with new tires mounted and balanced would be approx 4k
EVR wet slipper clutch could be yours for a little over 1.2k, installation with oil change would be under 1.5k (my guess, depends on your location - if you have mechanical know-how, all of these are DIY jobs).

That gets you more towards "race-bling", all useful stuff - ohlins "the original gold" suspension, lightest on the market carbon fiber wheels, and a true slipper clutch for the wet-clutch system.

Raux

yeah i don't think the EVR wetslipper fits on the small case motors.
I spoke with EVR at Intermot and they mentioned they might look at it, but they asked who would spend the money to swap out on a 696/796... to which I said... you never know ;)

junior varsity

I know it fits ST3 and SC Sport1000 and 848.

That is the extent of my knowledge, as that's all I've seen them go into so far.
