Tech Day anyone?

Back when I was an active member of the SoCal Miata club, we used to hold monthly Tech Days...a club member would offer to host, and folks showed up to work on their cars.  Oil changes, mods, suspension and roll bar installations, stuff like that.  The experienced members would assist the less able, liquids were consumed, generous piles of bull shi-t created.  Would any fellow DMF'rs be interested?  I might volunteer to host the first one.  Besides typical routine maintenance, we could adjust suspensions, install bling (and farkles), bs, etc.  And I'm a block off 150 so test rides would be fun.

Any interest???

Wait . . . are you saying we are supposed to do some sort of maintenance on this things?   ???

I'd definitely be in. I need to adjust my chain and finally get around to that tail chop. I'm at least capable of those things if others wanna watch.

Don't have much to do to the bike right now but I would love to watch/learn from others and, of course, help create some of those piles of bull shi-t.

In short, I'm in.   [thumbsup]

My tech days are usually when I visit my mechanic.....

;D

+11ty billion on the chain adjustment! I would love to watch and soak it all in.

Being an Auto tech, I'm still wary of detailed bike work since it's new territory for me.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Saturday the 16th anyone?

Are you volunteering to host?  I need to verify my calendar, but I might be able to host.

I've just completed servicing my bike, but that just frees me up to help everybody else.

Unfortunately I can't host... I was just suggesting "sooner" rather than later.

It seems a bit difficult to organize anything here but it's probably because I've yet to meet any DMFers face-to-face.  We'll see what everyone else can do...

maybe we should determine a location first and work on a date second?

Good idea!

I'll offer my place in Santa Paula and aim for a weekend in early November.  I'll post dates here in a day or two, and we can go from there.  I realize that my location may not be practical for riders in the general LA area, but it's all I got!

Aaaaahhhh yes, fond memories.   8)  Best part was when the guy on the MV Agusta F4-1000 saw it was a Ducati thing, then went home and brought back his Desmocedici...  [drool]

I'm not sure where you folks are located, but I'd be willing to host...I think I'm one of the few people out in the Inland Empire.  If any of you can make it out here let me know and we can set something up.

The good is I've got a place that works.  The bad is I have very little knowledge to share.  But I have a pool table and beer!
