Wow. Talk about not understanding the intent of a law. How fast does it go. Can't be much worse than running while drunk  [roll]

Nah, running drunk's a lot more dangerous -- you start out further off the ground and there's a lot more shit to run into.

Doing anything while drunk in public is pretty much cause for arrest here.

Yeah, makes me all nostalgic for that month I spent in Moscow, back in the Soviet Union days -- I'm pretty sure "drunk in public" was just about the only thing in their Bill of Rights, and they made the most of it. Hell, I was a stupid college kid, so I made the most of it.

And a word of advice; if you're ever in Moscow on the dark end of morning, and you and your comrades have finished off everything in the apartment but the 1500ml bottle of Russian Vermouth, it's time to call it a night. They don't make a smiley for what happens next if you don't...

But Vermouth? [shudder]

No, RUSSIAN Vermouth. I still remember slowly slurring out the word as I read the cyrillic lettering on the label: "fer... ferr... ferrmut... ferrmut... hey, you idiots, we're doing shots of Vermouth. Another round?"

And then there were the experiences with Xiang Bing in southern China.  Or what the Chinese thought was sorta like Champagne... Get enough 150 proof rice wine in you, and most anything will seem like a good idea, including Chinese "Champagne"

The problem I have with the whole thing is that a DWI/DUI conviction will result in the loss or suspension of your license. This applies for someone that's convicted of driving on a bicycle (or cooler, I guess). However, you don't need a license to drive these vehicles in the first place - so why are we suspending driver's licenses when a driver's license has nothing to do with the offense?

Is this true?  If so.. [roll]
