I've never gotten one of these things before so I'm looking for input. I've got a desktop and a laptop and I'd like to be able to use my only monitor as a secondary monitor for the laptop when my desktop isn't on. In the future, when I get a job again, I'd like to get a second monitor and be able to have both systems on and switch the second monitor between the two setups. Any suggestions?

If it uses VGA cable (which I am assuming it does) then just type 'VGA switchbox' into google shopping and you will get a lot of choices, and at much more reasonable prices than what was just posted.
Oh, and you will probably need a couple more VGA cables, one goes monitor-to-box, one goes Desktop-to-box, and one goes Laptop-to-box. (you should already have one, so you would just need two more for your complete setup. Then you can just plug the laptop into the cable, and hit the switchbox button to change the image from the desktop to laptop and back.

Ah, nice. The mouse and keyboard don't matter so much to me. I'm really just interested in the video. Thanks for the correct terminology.
