I grew up not to far from Elstree studios. My brother went to school about a mile or two from there. The film was huge and funnily enough neither one of us has ever seen it. There is also a airfield not far from there. It is a very old area and nearby is a village called Radlett. They have a roman road there............

Wasn't The Shining filmed at Elstree?

Love Carrie's blurb for the book... how apropro

“These books are the acid flashback they’ve been promising us without the mess and fuss of dropping acid . . . again. A trip worth taking.”—Carrie Fisher, actress/author

Where the Hell did that monkey come from?  First post, second to the last pic?  I don't remember that from any of the original Trilogy...

They used monkeys to play the Jawas.

Actually then never used the monkey. They origionally thought that because of its size, a money dressed and masked would make a more beliveable Yoda.

However, they discovered that the unpredicability of the monkey just wouldn't make it possible to use. So they went muppet on Yoda...I mean puppet.

We were in a book store this weekend and out of curiosity I checked out this book:

It's a pretty neat and full on look at how they made the film - however if you are so inclined to purchase it - beware that in stores it's $85 where as you can purchase it on Amazon for $49 and get free shipping.
