Just watching the new improved Aussie Top Gear, and I've got to admit I've actually been entertained, its truely funny and I hope it continues to be so.

Go the XB Falcon!

Yea thought it was pretty good. A little fine tuning I believe has gone into the new series.

Will have to wait and see!

I missed it, but it couldn't be any worse than the last pathetic effort

I think they need to do alot of improving. Way to scripted IMO.

Scripted to fall in line with the UK show. Yes they need to loosen up a little.

Love to throw the Falcon ute around their track though the track seems to be a little tight and difficult to negotiate.

It was a good effort and quite funny in places, but everyone seems to forget that TopGear UK has had
15 series to tweak and tune the Formula, so the guys on the Aussie version will take a while to loosen up and
get into a Rhythm. TopGear UK changed presenters in the beginning and was taken off the air in the early series
due to poor ratings and poor feedback until they tweaked it and came back in the current format. 1 episode does
not a series make.

But using Shane Warne to do a "Review" on the Morgan? that was poor form, The guy is a wanker (Personal opinion)
and having a guy piss farting about thrashing a car while sprouting some random info was just a waste of time!
A lot of people will say that is what TopGear UK do, but I would argue, they are Car nuts, they have driven hundreds
of cars and have a massive mental memory bank to reference back to, they can pass on lots of quality information
while doing it in a lighthearted or funny way. Shane Warne is just a balding washed up Cricketer who couldn't review
a car to save his Hairline, My suggestion would be to put in a proper driver like Mark Skaife or a real Car Reviewer like
Will Hagon - Just my $0.02

Heaps better than the last series, which I only watched 2 episodes.

Thought the ute everyday car was brilliant, but the track, she's a bit tight mate.

Lisa McCune as first quest....very noice!

Have to agree with you there Spanky.
Warne has no credibility at all, unless he is reviewing mobile phones and txt'ing or baked beans and may be cricket. laughingdp laughingdp
And as for Kenny and the other presenters i am not sure on their motoring credentials, But it is probably not a easy task to find a good motoring journalist or race car driver with a sense of humor or acting skills for TV in this country. Undecided

But still an ok show. waytogo

A bloke like Neil Crompton should anchor this show, he has car cred and has experience on T.V
Kenny is a funny guy and I am sure he likes cars and I have no idea who the other two twits are.
If they don't switch it up a bit and engage the audience a little better they will die a painful death.... again.

Fall in line yes, but not read the lines from the cue cards surely!

Thought I'd add something here since the forum has been quiet.

Sitting through that segment with someone who has had a life-long association with the marque but also a distinct dislike for 'Warney' was tough. For a new series, with new presenters (again!) I can't really see the point in bringing in a guest that brings nothing to the table ... except an existing channel 9 contract.

I don't think any of the presenters really have any 'TV' experience. The 'Pizza' guy seems to be the only one with any 'motoring' expertise but most people can't stand him and don't actually know of his motoring experience/expertise. Of course everything is scripted but I would think they have a better (and larger) writing team in the UK ... and that team is working with known personas.
