Flat black spray can about $7. I actually did them at the same time as the clip-ons since the headlights were already removed.

And these (about $15 each) for the exhaust and heat shields after I cored them. Great results, and after about a year, still looks great! Sounds terrific

after seeing an installed picture of the desmoworld headlight relocate on facebook my big question is can you still relocate the speedo by dropping it down low like Ive seen people do after going the clip on route

I am starting to consider 3" rise clip ons, though i would prefer the 2" woodcraft bars when it comes to their relationship to the triple. The 2" IMHO makes the now horribly noticeable speedo stand out like a deuchy tophat. FML. I wish I had the guts to cut that up and drop it down. Have yet to see someone do that though with the stock headlight (even possible?)
hmmmm, yeah, 3" transitions into stock speedo best.

I think 3" would also solved the clearance issues, because it would be high enough to fit into the air intakes.
In terms of hiding the speedo, I'm thinking about getting these windscreen

. It seem to help blend the speedo and the headlights nicely.
Check out our fellow DMFer, L4zy's bike.

umm, not sure i want another fairing, trying to get the front as low and flat as possible. even considered removing the speedo and hiding the guts i have to keep inside the bike somwhere.

I'm pretty certain Ungeheuer lowered the gauges on the stock light.
but yeah. seems the 2" are the wrong fit for the bike. too high to hit below the tank, too low to fit into the air intake

Your options when taking into account turning radius, riding position, and speedo appearance are
A. 3" rise - Fits into cutout, minimal loss of turning radius, lines flow well with stock height gauge pod. (What I have)
B. Zero rise - Bars come in underneath tank on the top trellis tube, minimal loss of turning radius, necessitates lowering of gauges because of how stupid it would look if not done. (What Raux has.)
A is cheaper and less extreme for riding position.
B is cooler, more extreme riding position, and cooler.
It's up to you man.

yep, i like rauxs set up, but would rather not change the light unless i could do the dual round headlights staked, but, i dont thinki could tuck them into the forks deep enough to be satisfied.
stock light it is.
ill take the option behind door number A Bob...

You aint been lookin' hard enough then
. It's possible, its not even hard.....

.....the only hard part is committing to the cut
.
Looks like this when you're done....
..... pulls the speedo in closer to the top triple and lower down to the headlight. Makes for a neater, meaner, sleeker look IMO.
And here's how I did it for anybody who's interested >>
