Hey, Nice Marmot
A Tough Couple Of Weeks.
«

Well, to start off, last Sunday week after the Moto GP, my mum passed away suddenly. She was only 66 years old. There was no indication that she was sick enough for that to happen. Only a few days beforehand, my uncle, her brother, also passed away. He was 55 years old.
Spent the whole week walking around in circles wondering what to do and why it happened and missing my Mum terribly. I wasn't able to say goodbye to Mum properly, she had passed before I got there so was only able to see her just before she was taken away. Mum & Dad lived in Sussex Inlet on the NSW South Coast. Mum did everything for Dad and we are really worried about him. I'm sure he will be able to look after himself but I will be calling in on him more and making some dinners up for him and taking them down to him.
I know everyone will go through this at some stage but make the beast with two backs it's hard.

Adam that's rotten.
I am in shock for you reading it. Many of us have parents the same age and I can't imagine the loss you are feeling.
As always you know the extended family is hear should you need a shoulder or to hear a Monster roar.
Best to you and family.
Take care.

that's shithouse mate =(
my mum recently lost her sister, sister's husband, and her mum in the space of 2 months. i know she was pretty shattered, it was bad enough for me and i was only close with my grandma. i cant imagine what it's like for you.
i know grieving takes a long time, but one thing i do know is memories last longer than this. always remember them

Hey Adam. Awful news. My mum died 5 years ago. It's really tough losing a parent. Takes some time to come to grips with it. Treasure the memories.

there is nothing in the world like a parent, unconditional love, someone who is always in your corner, blessed to have two of em when we begin.
Doesn't matter when it happens, it hurts, all we can do is remember the good times....and cherish whatever time we have left with them when they are here!
I often think of my father when working on the bike...."phuck, he'd really like this!!!!" and it brings a smile to my face

Adam that's sad news mate...
I holiday down in Sussex at the Alamein Caravan park, Is there someone at "inasmuch" that could keep an eye out for your dad and check on him every now and then?
Again my condolences to you and your family

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Adam. I can only imagine what the sudden loss of a parent would be like. Take the time to greave and celebrate her life with your love ones. Best wishes Danno.

Adam, our sincere condolences for your loss.. We lost Broni's dad earlier this year, so we know a little of what your going though. You're right - nothing can prepare you for it. Keep strong mate, and remember that we're here to help in any little way that we can..

mate sincere condolences. I too lost an uncle on the weekend of the MotoGP - he had cancer of the body. Passed away on my mum's birthday, and she is still feeling heartache from my dad, who only just passed away December last year....
tough times but try to think of the happy times and hang on to things that give you fond memories of her. I have all my Dad's tool. Whenever I am tinkering with something it feels like he is looking over my shoulder.
Like the other's said on here too - the extend family is here to help, to be a shoulder when you need strength, and an ear to listen.
cheers

Awful news mate. A lot of people have the same thoughts, wishing they could have said a final farewell. Try to look at it from the perspective of having said and done so many things over the past 40 years or thereabouts to show your love.
I saw something written once that talked about how a life is remembered on a tombstone by the characters "1944 - 2010". They commented how the "-" is the important character in that line, because it represents the time spent with family and friends, in love, being loved, cherishing momentous occasions, sharing in special times, coming together in tough times. The years at either side of the "-" simply happen to tell the story of "when", not "how" someone lived their life.
Like so many have already said - remember the happy times.
Cheers,
Craig

Dad actually volunteers for Inasmuch, he was there Volunteer of the year last year.
Which is the Alamein Caravan park?
