That would be ideal! ^^ [thumbsup]

I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

That's one sweet looking machine  [drool]

The article doesn't mention how lighter the Carbon version is, but I'm guessing the weight reduction will have a positive impact on performance...  Can someone confirm?

Static weight reduction (i.e. body parts) doesn't affect performance that much unless the weight savings was substantial. That being said, I am certain that the ABS bodywork the carbon replaces weighs probably twice as much. I have never weighed an ABS body part vs. a carbon one; but in my experience, it would weigh about half. I played with carbon in my day; however, it was mostly structural pieces on bicycles done with wet lay-up and vacuum bag; I am certain the Aprilia body work was done with pre-preg and autoclave (which is much lighter than wet lay-up parts). And since it's not structural stuff, the body work could be constructed in a very light weight manner.

Now, stick carbon wheels on that baby and it would fly!!! I am certain more than one potential purchaser is thinking in that direction...

It definitely could use colour.

I guess I am just not all that impressed with carbon bling any longer. I like the weight savings and stiffness, and I am unafraid of painting over it. I have seen all the carbon stuff for a long, long time (used to race road bicycles) and I just like the functional properties and don't really care about the greyness in general. I am very surprised that the motorcycle part industry hasn't gone to the lighter stuff with no cosmetic layer (i.e. the "weave" layer) where you see just the random fibres. But it isn't as pretty, either...

I just bought a carbon hugger for my Monster, and it will probably get painted like everything else when I repaint; or, I may de-gloss the topcoat. We will see...

Forget about the bling . . . did you read about that electronics package?!?  I can't imagine having all of that on a production bike.  Talk about an out-of-the-box racebike.  Nice.   [thumbsup]

Needs to lose the lights, mirrors, signals, etc. A bike like that is overkill on the street. The track on the other hand... [evil]

Yeah- you could easily buy one on Friday and race it all weekend.

I read somewhere that electronics are going to be kept legal on certain classes of production bike racing as long as you can get them on a production bike. I know what that means.

Frankly, I believe that most of the people buying this will NEVER use it to it's potential.
