only if you're trying to flat-foot both feet at the same time. expecting that on a sportbike is a setup for disappointment.
No kidding, but at 5'3" putting down one foot would result in the bike lying on its side.

749...Daytona... So > 100hp is ok now?
Actually, I'm struggling with this. I really don't need a bike with that much power. But there is now way I can upgrade the 620 to have the suspension, brakes and lighter rotational mass of a bike like the Daytona for what it would cost me to sell the 620 and apply that to something like a used entry level SBK. The power is actually the only thing I don't like about the Daytona. Its narrow and light and has decent adjustable suspension. That's what attracts me. 120+ hp is a bit off putting.
But that's only because I'm a huge pussy.

Trade the 620 for the 749....
It's not too much bike for you, I've ridden with you.
You get a badass bike you can grow along with and improve your techique, your brother-in-law's manhood remains intact because he still has a Dark Ducati in the garage.
If he's just gonna let it sit there, he might as well NOT ride a 620 and let the 749 be ridden..
Besides, Mel would look good on the back of the 749...
Just say'n...
I think I'm not going to pursue the 749. M's brother is kind of shady. Not the kind of guy you do business with. We don't want anything to go south so I'm not going to pursue it.
But the more I think about it the harder time I have justifying sinking a bunch of money into the 620. Its a great bike and I have a blast on it, but I want better suspension and a little more pull out of the corners when I go in a gear too high.
The Daytona seems to be calling me. I'm scared. Hold me.

If possible, test ride any and all bikes on your want list.

Carl, may I call you Carl? I had a similar issue with my Monster. It was getting long in the tooth, and not worth upgrading. I began to look at SBK's. I tried them all and found that the 1198s had the best fit. And yes I am small, so reach, stand over, and control was an issue. I doubt very seriously I would of purchased one if I would be in such "danger".
Getting a bike with great brakes, and a suspension tuned to suit your riding style as well as weight, height, and in some cases temperment make an SBK feel like a dream ride.
No, I don't jump out of windows of buildings to get "on board" my red bike
That one made me laugh.
Derby--shame on you for getting "preachy", it is me, Eileen, I changed my screen name and you "called out the wrong gal"
[moto]
Come along and join the party Carl, we would love to ride with you [moto]

I bet you could find a good used 749 or 748. I've heard good things about the Daytona also.
As long as you use good judgment when you ride, I don't see a problem. You just won't be able to whack open the throttle coming out of a corner, just a gentle roll is needed...
I know how you ride. You're a lot smarter than I am. You'll do just fine...
I'm sure our mutual friend in Albuquerque has plenty of good advice.
Oh, and a big +1 to not doing business with shady Italians!

I am both italian and sitting in the shade at the moment, therefore I resent this comment.

Veloce-Fino... I'm Italian too.. Originally from the Bronx, though I now reside in SoCal. Sac's wife is Italian as well and they are both very close friends of mine. I've got members of my family that I don't associate with because of their choice of, umm, lifestyle.
If you're sitting in the shade, you aren't a shady Italian, you're a
shaded
Italian.
If you are the Italian providing the shade, you're a
shading
Italian.
Either way, my comment doesn't apply to you unless you have less-than-reputable dealings..
I was making a joke at my friends' expense... No offense meant towards you.
...now go get me a prosciutto sammich!

ahh.... delicious.
Prosciutto, capicola, sopressata, some sharp provolone.... it's 2am and I want a sandwich now.
FTR. I'm standing under a tree completing a less-than-reputable transaction with a person shorter than I who is shaded by my presence standing over them.
So I am extremely offended on all accounts.

Oh, I see you know Sac Duc too!
But if it's 2am, what are you shading him from, a friggin' streetlight?

ANYWAY . . .
Stew suggested a Super Sport. I'm open to that idea. But I hear that the forks on the SS models are just pieces of shit. I really want the experience of good suspension with my next bike.
Opinions?

Mmmmm... 97-99 900ss
I've seen a few for sale. Compared to a superbike, the forks might not be all that, but compared to the stock forks on a 620 Dark, they're an upgrade for sure!
Or... the Half Fairing
