Good point. It may not be naked, but Honda thinks it has naked attitude.

Which means it wont work well as either.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

the new honda cb1000 is their naked bike. this one looks like they are going for the vstrom crowd, basically the same look the half fared look like the multistarada.
remember everyone hated the multistrada till it came out now everyone wants one of those, so wait and see.
but i have to say the new monster 1100 looks awful with the new exhaust, never thought i would say it but bring back the 2010 version it looks Better.

personally...I think it has potential....but they have targeted the wrong bikes as to whom this is supposed to appeal to...this is more at the BMW F800ST/R1200RT crowd but with less farkels and cheap suspension bits...I think the parts bin at Honda could have put a better front end ( see the CB1000R ) and you'de be a leg up on where you should be...that and a mild revision in the motor to change the power a little bit...but I guess that don't want to take away from Shamu sales....

i think a big problem was that the vfr800 was such a good looking bike still by even todays standards that improving on it was going to be damn near impossible so instead they went the pseudo adventure touring looking instead of the sport touring look.
