More bits and pieces coming this way for the "next 10 winters project" bike ;)

So here's the frame (sorry for the lousy cellphone pic, I'll take better ones later):

Came with a clean Florida title, btw [thumbsup]
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

PASO Progress

Making some progress on it, decals are off the front fender and no residual fading that I can see. Now I have a spare front fender that I got off of ebay just in case. I also bought a NOS trip meter cable and installed it, turns out the old cable was lying inside the fairing, pretty corroded so used the new one, small, I mean eye glass small, flat head bolt holds it in the stem, used some blue painters tape with sitcky side up to capture that in case it fell while taking it out/replacing it. I got it out okay without losing it, tape worked, but lost it putting it back in - damn it. Crawled around on the floor for an hour and could not find it. Ended up using safety wire to hold things in place, seems to work fine. Got the passenger grab rail back from  powder coating and installed it - but I have no tailight, just brake light. Also left turn signal is blinking faster than right. I did not touch the wires on the tailight assembly. Checked the bulbs, could not tell with these old eyes but looked like one of the filaments was bad, so I installed two new bulbs, still not working. Checked the fuses. there was a bad 15a, but once I looked at the schematic turns out it was the spare. So I'm going to start chasing wires, turn signals might be a bad ground somewhere, no idea on the tailight. I don't remember checking it when I picked it up, so I have asked Donnie if he or one of the guys know if the tailight was working? I found a set of Conti replica mufflers in Australia, will purchase them once I get shipping cost, not sure if I will have to add a Power Commander or something similar, I sent an email to Donnie to ask about that. I also took off the throttle lock the previous owner had installed, don't need it for this bike and the right grip did not fit correctly, now it does. Still very happy with the purchase and mostly enjoying doing the small stuff I can do.  - Gene

Is it possible one of the connectors from the turn signal came loose or got pinched? When you replaced both bulbs was it front & back or back L & R? Maybe try swapping the bulbs as a triple check?
Can't wait to see it in the flesh (plastic?)
Every time I take off my fairing I forget to plug the signal back in and it isn't until I'm on the highway I realize what I did. D'oh!

Blinkers are all working, just the left side is blinking fast, looked at schematic the tailights and rear turn signals all have a common ground so cannot be a ground problem - bummer. The tank is metal, the fairing is some pretty sturdy, thick stuff, way thicker than the fairing on my ST3. Only way you are likely to see it in person is on a Sunday morning at Faquier Livestock Exchange, once the roads are clean and the weather rebounds. Maybe a VA club meetup. - Gene

Could it be the blinker relay itself?

Not sure how the old ones are wired, but if the relay goes all signals should be affected, as it is in between the power and the center pole the turn signal circuits, at least on the new bikes.

I got all the fairing hardware replaced with the SS kit I bought, the new weld nuts were a PITA but it's done. The Conti pipes came in and further research says that I need a different ECU, which FBF sells. While I had the fairing off I tried chasing wires to find the problem with the tailight, no luck and the previous owner has some strange wiring going on, probably to eliminate the clock in the dash which is known to drain the battery. So I loaded it up and took it to DucPond. Before I took it out there, Nora, my Fiancee, helped with getting it all spruced up. I'll check in with DucPond later in the week. I'm not convinced the Contis fit, we'll see. The stock pipes need some work, the black paint needs to be redone and the aluminum covers have some scratches they may not buff out. As luck would have there is set of 907 stock pipes that popped up, they were taken off the bike when new, so I purchased them, cheaper than getting mine back into presentable condition. Meanhwile I have moved onto other projects with the other bikes, while the PASO is at DucPond. Was nice meeting Travis Saturday while at DucPond. BTW there is another PASO 907IE in No Va, Mario just picked one up. - Gene
