Ferraci drop in pistons

So I have many items off the bike for powder coating and I find myself unable to stop taking things apart. FBF has "drop in" pistons for my DS1k and I'm considering this. I would still like to keep my stock ECU and exhaust.(minus udder) Clearly I'd need new gaskets, but what else would I need to do? I've read about retarding the timing. Is it even possible with the stock ECU?
