So its a honda!! you know that it will do every thing that it says on the tin but do you really want a soulless motorcycle weather it be black or green (by the way the green one looks aweful) and those wheels and strange exhaust, no sir if it were me i'd be changing the 696 for a new 1100 evo... waytogo

Oh well thats my two cents... [moto]

I said "might". I'll go with the soulless aspect, but c'mon that green is the shiznit!

What part of you possibly owning a (totally badass) Honda means you get/have to stop hanging out on the DMF?

Is it not a motorcycle? Are you not going to mod it? I'm seriously lost here.

Nicely laid out gauges.

SSSA is hidden behind that exhaust, but I'm sure the aftermarket will cure that.

Headlight is dumb, but a standard round one is easy to come by (my tastes)...

All in all, I like it.  Looks better IMO than the naked GSXR that Suzuki's planning.

Jimmy we've had them on sale over here in the UK for a couple of years and I can honestly say that I've not seen one on the road when I've been out and about.
The Z1000 is a much more popular bike but again it don't ring my bell and as for the naked suzuki well lets cross that off the list.

Again my two cents but I don't think Jimmy honda rolls off the tongue as good as Jimmy ducati... Wink Wink

I'd still pop in if I pull the trigger. I just needed interesting title for the thread.
There is no board like the DMF. Big props to whomever runs this thing  chug

I was reluctant to use that name knowing it is kinda pompous, but my gf's mom called me that the second she saw the name on the tank and I took my lid off. It kind of stuck and now everyone I know now calls me that.
It does have a certain ring to it.

It surprises me the kawasaki is more popular. My total guess is it is cheaper, and maybe has more power? I cannot believe that more people like the look of the Kawi over that Honda. The exhaust and headlamp on the Honda are love em or hate em items... yes, but to me the whole Kawai is love it or hate it. Here in the states most people are not big fans. The dealerships will confirm this.

Other than the $$$ why wouldn't you get the streetfighter?
over 100 lbs lighter and 30 more HP and it looks much better...  Undecided

SF             368 lbs  155 HP
Honda        478 lbs  124 HP

I saw this bike at the Dallas bike show, nowhere near the kick ass looks of the SF.

Your first sentence nailed it. I love the SF, but even used I figure it will be $2K more than this new. Now that is a total guess being not even the dealers know how much it will cost yet. I called Riva Yamaha/Honda and they told me they wont be here till probably April. The guy said it could be sooner, but based off of past experience went with MArch/April. Confirmed there is no price point yet. WHat I really want is an 848 SF but I guess that is another issue completely. I haven't ruled out a Triumph Speed Triple, but something about that works for me one day and the next not so much. Who knows, I just may keep my 696 a bit linger and my 848SF dream will come true. I didn't think the Honda would ever get here so ya never know.....

Agreed waytogo

The SF chubs me up. Unfortunately like most of us I have champagne tastes and a sparkling wine budget.

I'm thinking the 848SF will come through.
They can't continue to go further and further upmarket when MV Augusta, KTM and others are expanding in the midsize market.

Those Honda fellas need to learn a thing or two from the Italians about making videos.

Honda excitement level - watching a bunch of dudes uncrate a bike.
Ducati excitement level - dudes thrashing the bike through a warehouse and junkyard performing holliganistic type stuff that requires a "professional riders on closed course" warning.
