M1100 flasher relay, or relayless

I thought I'd relay a quick story and get some opinions to see if this sounds right to you.

My '09 M1100 started having problems a few weeks ago where the turn signals started flashing fast on occasion.  I let it go for a few days, figuring that maybe I didn't have enough resistors in the signal circuit with my Rizoma LEDs.  The signals start flashing a little more erratically, like fast flashing on the dash but kind of cutting out on the actual signals, and eventually the signals stopped working all together, though the dash continues to flash fast.

I triple checked my wiring, and couldn't find anything amiss, but I wasn't getting any voltage at all on either the right or left signal leads so I asked my dealer to check it out.  They report that the problem is deep in the dash, and only a replacement of my dash will fix the problem.  Fortunately, this is still under warranty, so it won't cost me a grand to fix, this time.  Has anyone else heard of this problem?

The flasher relay circuitry is indeed inside the dash on your bike.

And so the only fix is to completely replace the entire dash assembly??   [bang]

if its out of warranty like mine you splice into the bikes wiring and fit a standard flasher can

since the PO fitted a electronic can my led blinkers work no probs :D
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

That will work.

Sorry - been off for a few days and missed these replies.

Glad to hear there's a post-warranty workaround.  They scared me a bit when they said it was a complete replacement of the dash....

The dealer is not so wrong since they would need to charge you by the hour and time can add up on a job like this.
