I guess I got lucky with getting my Matris fork kit last year from Jason at the Department of Suspension.

Well, I was on a ride last week that finally proved to me why I need a steering damper.

Now, I can't seem to find anyone that sells them "easily."  Pjsparts - one of my favorite shops - is selling the M2 for $490!  With 2-3 week shipment time.

I also Google-found this place - http://www.exoticsportbike.com/monster_620_(02-06).htm - but I've never heard of them.

Any thoughts?

Also for consideration...

Does anyone have a better suggestion for a "basic" top mount damper for a Monster 695?

Tom,

Exotics's are the only ones left that "imports" Matris damper according to HQ in Italy.  They don't actually keep them in stock (at least ~4 weeks ago).  they place an order when you give them a cc.

matris basically gives you no support whatsoever in the US.

i bought a damper from jason at dept of suspension a few meonths ago, took 2 months to get to me bc matris is slow..

now it may be leaking, since dpet of suspension is no longer the distributor you have nobody to ship ti back to.

matris italy totally does not help at all, tells you to goto a dealer, only they dont' tell you where to go.. its a completely sham of a company that does not support their product at all.

the product itself may be good but the company backing the product is complete sh&t.  my advice, go with ohlins or arrow.

If it's for an S4, OnCycles has'em marked down from $530 to $290... Picked one up myself...Dunno about their cust service, but as long as I get a few years out of it (or it saves me from a tankslapper), I'll be satisfied.. Undecided
