I am not a fan of the "new" Ducati logo and the whole "monster" name. Since things were slow at work today I did stuff other than work, like print out decals I actually like.

What do you think of this look? Keep in mind these were just taped on rather unprofessionally by me, it's ok to say you don't like the look.
I would ultimately like to have the decals removed from the tank and replace them with a larger version of the elephant logo only, no "MONSTER" under it. I thought I would start with the tail cover since it would be easy to do.

Submitted for your approval..........................

Opinions please..............

If I'm not mistaken, Cagiva doesn't have anything to do with the new monster anymore, right? If it's true, why fake it? I do like the "DESMO" though, but the elephant seems out of place to me, maybe inline with the "DUCATI" logos? I was planning to draw up an elephant and place the "DU" in DUCATI inside it.

This has always been my favorite logo, that is why I chose the one with the elephant. Not necessarily as a nod to Cagiva, but just because I dig it.

I'm not really a fan of the logo, but you can chalk that one up to personal preference; it just seems a little out of place on the new Monster. The bigger issue is that the size and scale of the logos vs. the bike are out of proportion. The logos look too large for the places you are using them so the net affect is that it looks kind of like a logo-ed up race bike.

+1
Stickered-up bikes get on some people's nerves. Bikes plastered with patently inappropriate oversized 'LOOK AT ME!!!' logos are even more annoying so just make sure you can remove them come resale time.

I agree. However, I am a sticker fanatic. I just collect them and store them in a picture binder. To put them on a vehicle is not my taste.

I like these logos, even on this new bike.
But the side ones too big & Ducs not Cagivarelated anymore.
I`d keep the desmo one, as a small hommage to the heritage.

I would ditch the elephant and incorporate the ducati and desmo together, make desmo about 1/4 to 1/2 the size of the ducati logo and put it underneath and starting at the "c"

positioned like this  Ducati
                               Desmo
but closer together

Thanks for everyones input!

Here is another idea; since I know I want to remove the standard ducati and monster logo's on the tank and replace them in the future, I was thinking maybe just doing 2 desmo logos on the side of the seat cover. That way it won't say ducati all over the bike.

I'll change things around tomorrow and post another picture.

take a look at the skins program for some inspiration on what ducati does with different logos

my '80s skins just say Ducati on both sides with no Monster, in the 80's double line script
Would love the find that Desmo in double line for my tail piece though.

less is more though in this case.
the ducati you have there would work for your tank sides
keeping the desmo on the tail like you have would be cool

I would just leave the desmo where it is and get rid of the two ducatis on the side.
