How could it get more MC? Motorcycles (witness discussion of 999s AND CB350s), bacon, muffins, roadtrips, riding motorcycles, more bacon, meeting friends, additional bacon......I mean.....how could this thread possibly go sideways? If you want NMC, check out the OCC thread on the general....all they're talking about is cash management and loan modifications and what dirtbags the Teutuls are. NOTHING ABOUT BIKES AT ALL!!!!!
On a serious note, shouldn't discussion of motorcyclists and their behavior (like roadtrips) be considered appropriate content? Just askin'.
How's the SS coming along, Carl? (there...see.....motorcycle content!) How's Helga, er, I mean, Sonia, Ryan? (more motorcycles) When you gonna post up that recipe? (no motorcycles, but bacon, so no penalty incurred).
Find the humor, oh Humorless One!
I dunno...
right coast..
left coast...
muffins...
musta been that.

Don't knock the bacon muffins until you've tried them!
Oh, the muffins are

My [moto] was one of the reasons for this Excellent Adventure.....well of course secondary someone who got a
999
and the guys seeing Stu.....and there always has to be some
involved or what would be the fun
But clearly there where [moto] ridden, [moto] talked about, [moto] ogled, and [moto] spanked, and the best... good... new and old [moto] friends made or together again!
(why else with the guys leave me and drive 2000 miles in 3 days over a holiday without me

I'll see what I can find, Bick. For reference, Coffee at Dawn is Albuquerque's version of the Rock Store, for those of you on California time, or Albuquerque's version of The Crossroads of Time for those of you near Deal's Gap (though it's not as busy as either of those venues, as there are only a couple of million folks in the entire State of New Mexico!!)
Ducati is generally well represented on a Sunday morning during riding season and there are a few dozen of us who frequent Coffee at Dawn regularly. Among the core group of folks who hang out up there are my '95 SS/SP and MH900e, Duck Stew's 848 Hayden, DucMouse's S2R1000, Plumber's Crack's S2R800, DucDog's 1198, J.J.'s 1098S Tricolore (soon to be replaced post-wad), Zaster's S4RS and 1098S, Ratfink's 749S, GratefulDuc's Streetfighter S, and several folks who aren't members of this board including an 851, an 888, and several other Monsters. Occasional visitors include almost any Ducati you could imagine from narrow case singles to round case twins to 1098R.
There are also TONS of other bikes that show up including a couple of Vincent Rapides, a '50s Norton Single, the occasional Parilla, several Benellis, Guzzis, early HDs, British cafe specials, /2 and later Bimmers, a VERY sexy Laverda Jota, virtually every modern Japanese model conceivable along with several vintage models. A brisk Sunday morning might include glimpses of a couple of hundred bikes in the parking lot.
I know I've taken a few pics, but I'll have to see what I can dig out for ya. Give me a day or two to scrounge.

I'd like to see some pics of that gathering. Very cool!
I live in the DFW, TX area and would love it if we had anything approaching that level of coolness.

Unfortunately, I can't divulge that information publicly...
I will, however, make anyone a batch if they come out to CA and ride [moto] with me on my 999.
Did I mention I got a 999? Because I DID!
Sac Duc and Polpetta are lucky... They live about an hour away from me. I have a feeling they will get a taste of the Maple Bacon Motorcycle Muffins soon...
I've looked over the recipe and think that it needs a little more bacon. I'll let you hooligans know how it turns out!

I think we need to change the answer to the question, "What Would Sac Duc Do?" to "Spank It Backwards!!!"
Yes, I have a bacon belt. I also have a bacon wallet, bacon water bottle, bacon watch, AND a "Bacon vs. Tofu" Game!
Oh, yeah... To all of you who keep pm'ing me asking if the rumors are true, the answer is:
YESSSSS!!!!!!
I got a 999! The rumors are true... Because I
DID!!!
See...? It's right there in the back of my truck... It's the shiny black one with 999 on the side!

They're no longer rumors, because I
did
get a 999...!
They Bacon Belt is courtesy of Sac Duc's wife, Polpetta. She sells them along with the other items I mentioned above.
Sac and I even had bacon chocolate for the trip!

I don't recall Coffee at Dawn having delicious Bacon Maple Muffins when I lived in ABQ and used to ride out there on my Monster (or 996SPS, or 999S)
Great place to meet other motorcyclists, and
on their motorcycles, however.

You have to time it right.
When I met up with Larry for a mid-week ride on The Crest earlier this summer, he on his Streetfighter, me on my flogged S2R, she just put them out.
When I met Stu and the rest of the ABQ crew up there the following Saturday, said Maple
[moto] Muffins were not ready yet.
They are the awesomeness.
