gonna throw another german on to the pile

The Audi TT-RS will be released in the US this year. Turbo charged 5 cylinder with Quattro  ;D

I LOVED my old TT coupe (not the drop top....hard top only. period.) with quattro.

Too bad the TT is the ultimate trophy wife car. Specially here in the states where it was basically a cool looking golf. You can't get rid of a stigma like that

Yup, beemers might be the only time I would reccomend the extended warranty.

As for the Aston, get it and do the maintenance yourself [evil]

Not gonna happen (the maintenance part).
I was pricing cars this morning with my friend. When you add in extended warranties, options, etc, It looks like I can get a new 2011 335is or a 2009 M3 with about 15k miles for the same price: right at $60k.
Reviewing the forums, it seems like people are fairly split as to which car is better to own, taking into account price and use as a daily driver, not a track toy, where the M3 would clearly be better.
The opinions aren't split on the M3 forum, of course, but wow, what a bunch of arrogant twats. Apparently, our value as human beings is entirely determined by our bank balance and choice in cars  [roll]

I loved the top gear segment where clarkson was driving the M3 with his 200 dollar sunglasses, bluetooth headset, and popped collar. It was perfect  [laugh]

If the top comes down, I'd agree with you. But, I've never seen a hard top TT with a girl behind the wheel...just sayin.

I completely agree with the Aston part though  [evil]

This is my 2011 335is
The car is very nearly an M version sans the v8. S version BMW's have a long and legendary history and I think this car does that legend justice.

This was my old 07 vette The vette carries with it a ton of psychological baggage. Some people can deal with it, most cannot.
I find that middle aged women are the most affected by the vette's baggage. That makes me care about it a little less  [beer]
At the end of the day, remove the mental stigma and the vette is a better car in every way...

But hey, a doctor can't be seen in a vette... How small is your penis anyway?  [bang]

Not sure why no one has pointed out the obvious...

Given your current geographic locale, isn't this more appropriate:
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Nice car/cars. The lines on the new BMW are killer, and the color on your Vette is gorgeous.  [evil]
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

???
Where did you get the impression that I'm afraid to be seen in a vette? Was it this:

And diva, valid point about the vette, but I'd like a better balance of sport and luxury. I've got the bikes for pure performance. Plus I'm not 50 and I still have hair. I doubt they'd be willing to sell me a vette  ;D

That is what is known as a "joke," for future reference. That is why there is a smiley after it.
No, the primary reason I'm not interested in a Corvette, amazing performance cars as they are, is that I want more luxury with my performance. I've driven Corvettes before. They are in no way, shape, or form, luxury cars.
That's also why I'm not interested in a Porsche, even though, being a physician, that car would be ok for me to be seen in  :P

And, as I mentioned before, your 335is is gorgeous  [thumbsup]
But I'd prefer a manual transmission.

I think the BMW M3 is the better choice:

That's the decision I've been trying to make ^^^
My budget would allow me to get a new M3, but I seldom spend the full amount I've budgeted myself for toys. So if I buy an M3, it would likely be used. I wonder about the reliability implications about a tiny 4.0L V8 that revs to 7400- that's a race engine, and race engines often don't provide longevity.
As a daily driver, the M3 might not be better than the 335is due to the need to wring it out to get the performance.
It is, however, an M3...  [evil]

It's a tough call.

How about a loaded new Challenger with the biggest engine they can put in it (R/T??)? Horsepower along with tons of torque.  [evil] Cooler than the 335 IMO, although maybe not as cool as the M3. Cheaper though.

What would your penis think What would you think about an E46 M3?  For my money these are the best looking M3s of the recent generations by a big margin, and they are in the ballpark(-ish) of the E90s, performance-wise.  It is well within your budget, leaving you lots of room to mod the tits out of it.

Nice cars, flynbulldog.  I would buy a vette, as I suspect many here would.  But lighten up a bit, eh?  We're all just trying to live vicariously through swampduc here...  :)

I definitely agree that the E46 M cars look far better than the E90/92 series cars.  And like I said about the 335is; get the older M, send it to those crazy make the beast with two backsers at AA so they can slap their blower on it and DAMN!!
