Thought some of you may need to know of a change coming January 1st, 2011. I'm just the messenger.  ;)

Effective January 1, 2011, legislation amended CVC 5201 to include that license plates be mounted in a position so that the characters are upright and display from left to right.

The amendment to CVC 5201 will affect vehicles displaying the license plate sideways or perpendicular.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

what if your plate has hebrew lettering?

Then you didn't get it from the CA DMV.

Huh?  Meaning that until now & for the rest of this month you could mount your number plate downside up and/or bassackwards??

Here in the People's Republic of Victoria they're authorised to shoot you at dawn for a fortnight if your number plate is some bureaucratically determined number of degrees too far from the vertical.  Pack a protractor.

And all you have to do is not mount it sideways.... My, how draconian  :D.

reading comprehension is fundamental. the carbon edition diavel is the one i referred to, and the plate is mounted sideways on that bike, it has a different orientation and bracket than on the non Carbon edition.

Sure, why not? Are we supposed to be scared of them? Bunch of *$#%@# losers. They are exactly the type (criminals) of people I am paid to stop.
