Guess the dot on the i of 'Juicy' is a bedbug. Their flagship store on 5th av in NY is closed until they can clear out the bed bugs.

More and more stories of these critter popping up all over. A county library hear here was closed here to check recently when a staff member noticed signs of bed bugs on a book in their book drop. Lucky for them that staff member had worked in hospitality and been trained on what to look for... but jebus those little blood suckers are taking over the world it seems.

I'm not a tinfoil hat type, but with more stories about them popping up in retail stores, movies and such is getting to me a bit. Now clothes stores... great. You could go out for a day of shopping and bring them home.

what gets me is the thing that killed these critters is outlawed....I say repeal the ban on DDT!

also FWIW...I personally find them not a fun issue to deal with as I just had to throw out a bedframe from them getting into he unfinished wood from them somehow being picked up and tagging along on something from one of our travels and we have been going through sanitizing procedures which are a real pain in the ass of upheaval!!!

the city is overrun with rats.  no matter what they do, the bedbugs will just travel on the rats from building to building, right thru the sewers.

the image of a new yorker is now going to be someone scratching their ass vigorously.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Stayed at the Luxor in Las Vegas several years ago with my GF and it turned out the room was infested and we each got at least 100 bites....NOT fun, but fortunately none hitchhiked home with us, from what I've read can be very difficult and expensive to get rid of them.  Was curious and checked Google, the Luxor is still infested today....

Read an article about bed bugs.

If they are found in your home it's recommended that you throw away ALL cloth items.

Furniture
Mattresses
ALL clothing
Shoes
Drapery..

Literally multiple thousands of dollars. Sounds like a bad time..
Is this thing on?

I betcha that there are no records of the bedbugs at the Luxor either. When I worked at a hotel they told us to list the room as off the market due to "visitors" for bedbugs and never say or write bedbugs anywhere.  [roll]

Bed bugs were in our room when we stayed in Venice.

Hearing the horror stories about these things brings back awful memories from the tick infestion in Florida.  My god..that was a nightmare! I'd just burn everything if that ever happened again!

In this case there are records of a sort, called the Las Vegas Health Dept. when I got home and they went out to the room and confirmed the infestation.....but this was about six years ago and there are very recent accounts on the web of similar experiences there....we had the misfortune of being some of the first victims but were indeed VERY lucky none came home with us.

I put out a sign saying no peddlers or bedbugs by my door. Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

I got 'em in an apartment I had in Philly. I had to throw away everything. I spent my last night in that place sleeping on an aluminum futon frame with no mattress trying to not get bitten and the little assholes still got me... I hope I don't ever have to deal with that again.

Now theres a coincidence.  I stayed at the New Karnak hotel in Luxor, also infested and yet they're 1000s of miles apart.

I, too, got a dose of them in my hotel in Rome, and that was a number of years ago. Persistent little buggers.
