duct tape loops on the inside. I used clear packing tape to tape the front and to make sure no air could get it and rip the hat off

When I did mine I used zip ties through my air vents.  It was super cold though. I supposed you could tape over the vents after the zip ties are in place.

This might work.  My vents are all broken, so they're open all the time anyways.
