Sure did. He was an absolute ass. He was also a teenager. That's why I said, IS and not Was.

I thought this thread was going to be about seeing the sun for the first time this year above Seattle.

Anyway, Jorge and Val are very very similar and putting them together made for some drama. Ben is humble and, I believe, will eventually become a thorn in Jorge's side, driving Jorge even more insane than Val. For now, they will play the happy couple.

ben's quite a bit more mentally tough than his general low-key, regular guy demeanor would seem to indicate.  mladin saw to that.  he'll take what he can from jorge and then use it against him.

..reminds me, i wonder if dovi is permanently broken.   Grin

Jorge bores me too.  I think off track he a smarmy Spaniard, with a constant "I just make the beast with two backsed your girlfriend" expression. On track his riding is too smooth. The only time I had any fun was when Rossi was trying to knee him outta the way.  I hope to see him more challenged next season.  I think that will change both his on and off track behavior.

I'd be pissed too if he had screwed my GF.  Wink

That doesn't mean everything you wrote isn't true. And we're not smarmy, just confident in our superiority.  Grin

That is, of course, if you HAD a girlfriend, which as far as I know, you do NOT.

Really? because you sure as hell have shown quite the contrary [mod edit]  Grin

regardless, what makes Jorge such a joy to watch is his incredible ego - irrational risks make for good racing. I am baffled that anyone could find his still anything but at least still entertaining. Say what you will about him, he's a joy to watch! as was Elias. I still have my money (and my heart) on the factory Ben, though. It might be a Texan thing, or it might just be that I want to have his babies, but 2011 is going to be a blast!

I've met Jorge at a thing here in SF and he seemed like a decent enough guy. He seemed to appreciated that I made the effort of speak Spanish to him even though I probably sounded like "I AM HAPPY TO BE NEAR TO YOU AND AM JOLLY TO SEE YOU COUNTENANCE! OKAY TO TAKE PAINTING WITH YOUR STANDING NEXT TO ME?"

As for the whole "he's an aloof bastard" thing, I think he's just got one of those faces that always looks like he just ate something unpleasant.

Basically he just suffers from the Spanish curse of Doucheface.

As for his racing style... I like that he hates to be beaten and takes chances to see that doesn't happen. I wish we'd see more of that in the next season

Actually, we Spaniards are just genuinely douchey people in many ways.
It is our plight for being better than everyone else  Wink
Still damn friendly and fun, over all - but the Spanish ego did destroy entire civilizations and will always remain.
