Universal stand

Is there such a thing as a universal stand? I need one that would fit my 2009 M696 and my husband's BMW K1200S. Thanks for any inputs.

I can answer your first question, but not the second.
Most stands are "universal" in the sense that they are adjustable and fit a number of different motorcycles.
As for the BMW K1200S, I don't know. I think it has a single sided swingarm (does it?), which requires a different stand. Also I'm not sure if a standard stand (like a pitbull or whatever) will work with a shaft drive bike. It has a center stand, right?
Edit: the Pitbull website says that a BMW K1200S is a no-go for a standard rear stand.

Thanks Spidey for the reply. The Beemer is single sided and it does not have the center stand. Hmm....so more likely I need two then? Hmmmm....

*Ahem*
Four wheels? Nope. It's a Beemer
The only option I can see is to buy an 1100 and just get the right pin sizes for both the BMW and the Duc. I think the SSS stand pitbull makes is one size fits all, they just make different sized pins for different bikes. Mine has two pins, one for drive side and one for wheel side.

Correct on the Pitbull SSS stand. I just needed to buy new pins for the large hub on the Multi1200; originally bought it for the S2R1000.

you might be able to find some spools for the single-swingarm that will allow it to be used with a standard stand

Wow, how does that stand attach to the bike on one side? Cool!
These are pretty cool stands too. Attaches to the swingarm pivot on both sides so that the frame itself is suspended, not the swingarm.
They have an adapter for most Ducs.

I don't see the Bursig stand for M696. If it's just for the beemer, $500 is not worth it. It does look very nice and slick from the video.

can't hurt to send an email, it might just not be listed or a simple matter of making the appropriate adapter. the bursig can be fitted with wheels too, which i find very appealing as i have a rather small garage. it would help when i have to play musical motorcycles getting them in and out of tight spaces
