So the brazing will stick to the aluminum can.

I like a drink. You know when people say 'I like a drink as much as the next man'? Not if I'm the next man, you don't.

Lots of welding over plastics,  chemicals, wooden benches etc.      Grinding and shooting the sparks into the drywall (thanks for letting me use your garage, Dad!).   Really, really poor welding.   Poor workmanship, poor everything, actually.    And then he puts it out there for everyone to see.

Hack.

I knew a guy like this, He had a 1098, constantly had to fiddle and make the beast with two backs about with things because
he thought it would make it better, did some bloody poorly made "Upgrades" and changes to the bike,
and then complained and wanted repairs under Warranty when they went wrong, stupid part was
Ducati repaired things for him under warranty. A few quick examples:

- Rewired the headlights to make them brighter, it didn't, and he damaged the OEM wiring

- Changed all the exhaust brackets over to Aluminum plates using ultra thick alloy plates, we don't know why
but they looked very poorly made with sharp corners everywhere and never copied the original shape or angles.

- He replaced the Factory Clipons with bits of alloy pipe, held on with Zip ties and pipes clamps.

- Took a number of screws and bolts out and replaced them with Spikes with Threads on them, very sharp
and very bloody Dangerous.

- Decored the OEM exhausts, using a hammer and a wood Chisel!! Then blamed Ducati because the bike was running
like shit, and most of the mess left in the pipes from His butchery blocked the pipes restricting airflow. Ducati
gave him new exhausts!  :o

- He dropped the bike, damaging the fairings, tank and Tail piece, he blamed the dealer for the damage! now this
was 4 weeks after the dealer had the bike, the bike left in perfect condition (They had detailed photo's of the bike)
But he insisted that the dealer had done the damage. The dealer paid for the damage to be repaired just to shut him
up. and he still complained about the free repair.

I could go on and on about the Damage and destruction this guy did to his bike, the pages and pages of letters he sent
to the Dealers and Ducati about the bikes "Problems"
But in every industry and hobby, there is always someone who is a Moron, who does more harm than good, does stupid
things for the sake of saving money or to make it better, because they think they know better than everyone else.  [bang]

Noticed you said you "knew" a guy like this.  I'd de-friend a guy like that in a heart beat, too.  LOL  Anyway, he must know somebody to get Ducati to bend over backwards for him.  *facepalm*

proving the old adage of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" is still alive and well today.

all it takes is enough whining and complaining and you can get any corporate entity to do anything just get you to shut the F up!

Oh No! I never said he was a friend! Don't wish that shit on me!  [laugh] The make the beast with two backsTard used to rock up at the Particular dealer I
used to work for.

No, he wasn't a friend with anyone at the Ducati distributor, they all knew him though, he was a serial pest and more often they
would just do it (the Repairs) to shut him up and not get harassed constantly, he had a mate who was a Solicitor/Lawyer and he
used to be able to get a hold of Directors/Managers email and address and he would send them letters, Emails and constantly call everyone.
He was unemployed on workers comp, and he nothing better to do, but get stoned, make the beast with two backs about with his bike, break something and
then blame everyone else and demand it was repaired for free, last I heard he was sending a letter of demand stating he wanted the
bike replaced and a free Hypermotard for the time and inconvenience all the trips to the dealer for "Warranty" repairs.
I never did hear how his "Claim" went.

I could go on and on with the shit this guy carried on with for pages, and I was only with the company for 3 months!  :o

Thats gotta be a troll right?

Not a chance. He's a regular over at ADV in the regional forums. The guy is chock full of win. Lots of his antics documented there over the years. Like the time he took that same 250 into the woods w/ some girl on their first date. Not riding fire roads, double track, or anything like that, but blazing new trails deep in national forest. Bike broke down (suprise), they got lost walking out, local forumites and the police had to rescue them.

This is also the same guy that rigged up a pto-operated blender on his bike to make mixed drinks at rallies. There are pics of it in action over at ADV.

By all accounts, he's a great guy in meatspace. He lived down the street from my sister until recently, but I never had the chance to meet him before he moved.

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
