I went to the dark side. Got me a spankin' '06 Multistrada 1000ds S. All the shiny bits, fully "farkled," as they say.

Damn! This mother handles great and moves. Sure, it's kind of a grandpa bike with the saddlebags, etc, but I make the beast with two backsin' love it!  [evil] The most confident bike I've ever owned or even ridden.

Just crappy phone pics for now...

Grandpa bike:

She'll be driftin' bikes by the time she's 10 (in her pajamas, none the less).  [evil]  Nice choice of pillion...  [laugh]

Nice SILS!!   [thumbsup]

Hmmm..you and JJGEO and MotoGPFan must be G-pa's as well then, huh?!

The Sils sound awesome, as does the open clutch.  [evil]

I testrode one last year and they ride nice, for a long haul 2-up bike they are on my short list.

Big Troubled Bear

I am also interested in these bikes as a 2 up tourer [thumbsup]

Bick

It is a step in the right direction...

Who was the lucky one that got to ride it home for your busted up ass?

Very nice!  [thumbsup]

Now to take it out and get it really dirty!  ;D
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Congrats!  Did you keep the monster too?

GREAT commuter bike!
If you love your bike, set it free.
If it comes back to you, you've
probably high-sided.

Generally if it's done safely I see no problem with it.  I didn't see the video so I can't comment on that.

I sold my Monster shortly after getting the 'strada.  The Monster was sexier, but the 'strada was just...better.  :o

Nice ride!  [thumbsup]

CairnsDuc

Very Nice, When I saw the MS I hated it, but now I have really grown fond of the Shape/Look

Now stop taking Pics of it go and  [moto] it

Yep. Well stated. My gf is looking to buy the monster. I don't think I'll need anything else other than the Multi for a while.  ;D

That road is in Northern Italy somewhere. Those guys are screwing around for sure, but it nicely showcases the abilities of a well-ridden Multi.

Bick, I rode it home myself.  [cheeky] Then put another 200ish miles on her.  ;D

She needs a bath, the dirty girl. And a good name...

We'll have to go ride the tall bikes sometime.  :D  Trailridge?
