just f'n great.  Help desk just got outsourced to india.  Next on chopping block, developers.  Time to look again before axe falls.  This would make it my third job due to f'n outsourcing.  I just don't get this anymore.

The strange thing is I can't find a developer worth a damn in the U.S., let alone offshored development shacks.

What kind of developer are you and where are you based out of?  We haven't stopped hiring in 8 years and always need quality developers.  You can take a look at www.hugeinc.com/careers and see if you fit anything listed there if you have any interest. 

Honestly though, if you're not in the creative side of the business (even as a developer), outsourcing is a very real threat to your job. Corporate IT is far from a safe place to be these days.

Sorry to hear.  It is happening everywhere, not just IT.  We have shipped mfg'n jobs first, then supplier base, then quality engineer, now design engineering, and I imagine within 5 years our lab and test engineering.

In my 10+ years of experience, the true cost savings are rarely realized due to higher maintenance, turnover, security, costs plus decreased efficiency & competency.  But, the cost per hour is low, and that is what the superficial bidness people like.

The role of government in the US was to protect the interests of OUR society, the individual and defend the environment that allowed "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness"....well that role has been eclipsed,

At best our government is like some weak Company Union in a business that has automated and does not need the manpower anymore....the Union management votes itself fat raises from the dues-payers and then "negotiates" give-backs and jobs to the Corporate Masters.

You can vote all you want for the republicrat of your choosing...you are not voting for anything that will change the "larger fix" that is in-progress

So if you want a sketch of the model...go back and study the pre-Civil War plantation system....you are the field slave ,

your government is the Big House slave telling you things will get better...
