will pod type filters work on an S4 ,,i have a heavily drilled air box with K&N filter in at the moment but Its such a pain to remove for tuning take 30 minutes to get airbox off as radiatoe needs lossening etc etc  pods would be much neater and access would be easy plus induction roar might increase and hide the noisy mechanical sounds..but will it run OK I have PC3 and DP custom ECU so remapping is no hassle.

I've been running pods + DP ECU + boomtubes on my (996) S4R for about a year without problems.  Runs like a champ.

Plus, it looks better:

Side view prior to overflow bottle relocation, hose/wiring re-routes and breather/airbox removal:

One more big change coming to the front of the bike to clean up the look...   ;)

I got the pod filters from Summitracing.com:  http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KNN-RC-1252/

The 90° intake boots I got from eBay.  Like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-Multistrada-MTS-1000-Throttle-Body-Intake-Boots-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255fdb2375QQitemZ160521986933QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I got the covers from http://www.outerwears.com/ to "protect" the motor and to help the bike run better in the rain, but I've since been told that I'm fulla crap, rain hitting the filters won't hurt the bike.

I think there is enough room to mount them without the bends .......i will check it all out

I did it to my S4 also; works great. Found out that it actually runs better w/o the the power commander... Cleans up the the underside a whole bunch. I used the same pod filters that I had on my M750; just modded it up a bit to fit...

What would ScoobyDoo?

Yes.  They were powder-coated by the previous owner.
