You won't be all that happy (and neither will your neighbors) with the sound of just mid-pipes. You would be surprised at how effective the udder is at minimizing the sound of that motor. Bare mid-pipes will be stupid loud.
Here are the first things I would do in price ascending order:
SBK front fender
RCS/Radial master cylinders
Lite weight wheels (probably go with the OZs if you didn't want to drop the dime on BSTs).
If you really want to get silly (time wise) get the swingarm powder coated black.
I'll also second the
on the dual headlights.
Wheels might be part of my 2011 winter mods. How different is your bike now with BSTs?
Think getting the swingarm and rearset powdercoated might be doable this winter. I;m now super curious as to how loud my bike will be without the udders and no cans. She was loud before so I am sure the neighbors will LOVE me once I put the midpipe on.

I personally wouldn't run it with just a mid-pipe, but that's me.
I can't think of anything that would alter the way the bike rides/handles more than the BSTs did. Night and day difference.

If you want to know why midpipes only gets
try unbolting the front header, pull it away a little, fire up and listen at six, seven or eight thousand revs.

kopfjäger sent me two youtube clips of what midpipes only sounds like
in addition to some inspiration for my bike via his fantastic machine! Think I will invest in these.....

thats a great lookin pair, tho they would look better on the back of my bike than the front.
and yes i have twin lights. Im not entirely convinced i like them yet. i think i need smaller blinkers and to fit the clip-ons to give them the best opportunity to impress me.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

it's not my S4r and it's an undertail setup that was made by ARCfab, which is now defunct.
i saved that pic because I've been shopping it around looking to find someone who can make two dozen of them, i would sell all of them overnight.
