Clutch lever slop?

My clutch lever really doesnt start to engage until about half way on the pull.
I bled the line and master, no improvement. My guess is the master or slave are going. Any ideas to troubleshoot either? Is there a master rebuild? Or just replace it?

I didn't see any rebuild kits when I was looking a little while ago. You could try to strap the lever in the pulled position over night but it might not help. If the slave is going, it's usually easy to see. Just pull it off. It's only 3 screws. If it's wet behind it, you're slave has a leaky seal. If not, the problem is likely elsewhere. When my master went out recently it started leaking from where the lever interacts with the cylinder. I dunno what kinda master the S4rs has, but mine was an axial coffin master.

From your description all sounds normal.  Air or leakage will cause disengagement problems, not engagement problems.

Just to make sure everyone is on the same page - Howie is using engage and disengage properly. I have a feeling the OP might have it mixed.

You pull the lever to DISengage the clutch. At rest (no lever input) the clutch is engaged.

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Yes that is what i meant. When the lever is pulled, it is mush the first half of the pull.
The problem is, with adjustable levers, i have to have it adjustaed to 5 so i can get enough lever throw

I'm not much of an expert, but I think you can adjust the plunger (?) to push better/more into the master.
The plunger (?) is threaded into the barrel in the lever - secured by a tiny set screw, which is hard to loosen.
(excuse me if these are not the correct parts description)

Maybe something else is wrong as well, but this relatively easy to do - and free.
