I've just purchased and installed the V2 integrated tail-light for my '01 Monster, and the turn-signal function on the unit has failed.  It worked initially, but quickly ceased flashing when the indicators are triggered.  I've double-checked all connections, and everything is correct.  The front stock indicators are still flashing at the stock rate.  Oddly, I can trip the indicator back on briefly by flashing the hi-beam in accordance with the on / off cycle of the indicators.

Not sure where to go with this, as I'm not too good with electrical issues.  Any ideas?  I'd rather not have a failed indicator out on the road...

Is the bike running when you try the directional?  If not, that may be the problem

yup........it actually mentions that somewhere in the instructions. Something I failed to read, when I bought mine and was pissed off for a week until finally taking the time to pull out said instructions and peruse.

Huh, works fine with it running.  I just wonder why it worked fine at first without the bike running...

This is why I don't play with electronics  :P

I went thru the exact same scenario w/ my V2 as well. At the same time, I also added LED signals up front w/o using resistors, used an LED compatible flasher relay instead. First time I turned it on w/o the bike running, it all worked great. Couple days later, showing it off to my dad and my cousin, I hit the switch... nothing.

I lost an entire make the beast with two backsing week of my life trying to chase down the problem. I must have traced, cut, moved, soldered and/or replaced every make the beast with two backsing wire on that bike. Resistors were added. Resistors were removed. Schematics were pored over, redrawn and cursed at. My next intended step was to remove the harness and literally rewire the entire bike from scrach.  [laugh] Then I read the thing about the bike needing to be running...

Running, as in the motor running.  It may need more than idle to get full voltage
