I think my 696 is just about ready to take to the track in the spring for my first track experience.  I think I should probably do some sliders though, but can't decide which ones.

I really like the more subdued look of the Rizoma's: http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=395

But the Speedymotos have such a good rep (and a little more expensive): http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/09-0201/Protection-Slider/09-0201.html

I'm also can't decide on the front and rear axle sliders: Speedy, Rizoma or Rhino?
http://www.monsterparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?

Any opinions?

i dont have forks sliders, bikes been down about 7 times. Forks never touched. Generally speaking, fork sliders just dont work, and if ur in a situation where u need em, chances are ur forks are make the beast with two backsed anyway...

other thne that rizoma! Rear axle sliders? Some of them double as a spool, so thats the only reason id get them.

just realize that the smaller the frame slider is, the more it is JUST a frame slider. The longer it is, the more it will protect the body work if u get what i mean.

I have T-Rex sliders on mine.  Relatively inexpensive and they did their job twice, once on each side.  Replacement plastic was $13.  I have axle sliders as well, and the fronts made contact with asphalt on both falls, though they only rubbed off a small amount and didnt need replacement.

I have FastBikesUSA frame and axle sliders on my Sport 1000, and I am very happy with them, both in terms of looks and ease of installation, but they have never been "put to the test".

I plan on getting some for the frame and front axle of my M796 as well.

Anyone got pics of their 696 with sliders installed?

And am I reading this right, that frame sliders alone MAY be sufficient, at least in a low speed drop or standing tipover?

I have Motovation frame sliders and Rizoma axel sliders (front & back) and bar ends on my 696. The wife took a low-speed spill and the frame sliders worked great. The axel sliders took a small amount of damage though I'm not sure that they protected anything since they were barely touched.

X2 for the T-REX...$45.00 and they do the job just fine. Just ordered my 2nd set for a different bike... I can say I have EVERYTHING Speedymoto offers and I just don't see the point in spending a ton of money on something that is made to take a hit.

On a side not, they provide amazing service. He offered to do some custom machining on my first set as one of the mounting points on the older style frames has a tendency to be over painted/powder coated from the factory-but only in some cases. He turned one down a couple millimeters upon discovery of this and next dayed me the part free of charge.

So it only took almost 2 months but the Motovation Frame Sliders just arrived today from Pro Italia.

They look well made and (using my bike jack to support the motor with a block of wood just to be sure nothing fell out of alignment) they installed in about 10 minutes.

Glad to finally have them.

Now to purchase some axle sliders....
