It's a Whiskey Trio! One of the staples of Soviet-era Russian literature is the Vodka Troika - three people, usually strangers, who "invest" together in a bottle of vodka and then spend then next hour making damn sure they get their fair third (or maybe a little more) of the bottle. Which, I can attest, had a cheap plastic cap that disintegrated when removed, so there was no way to reseal the 750ml bottles.  

12 oz. would be a duet, at best.
