actually the filtering process makes it pretty fair in my opinion. they try their best to let people who are unbiasis to the situation into the jury pool.

In theory. It all depends on your perspective though (i.e. prosecutor or defendent). I'd say it's about as fair as it can be...but its far from perfect.
