Brake Light Problem

I have a 07 Monster S4R, the brake is always staying on and i'm not sure where to look to fix it. I didn't change the bulb or anything so i'm not sure what happened to it. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

Could just be a dirty contact. Try taking off the red lens that is held on by 2 screws at the back and take out the light bulb, clean the contacts and put it back in. See if that helps. After that it's time to check switches or wiring. If it's like the old monsters, the light bulb comes out by pushing it in and then rotating counter clock-wise.

Sounds like a bad/sticky switch, or a mis-adjusted rear brake pedal.

If you follow the wires from each location you can unplug a connector and find which one is the culprit.

I had the same problem with my s2r.... Front brake lever microswitch and the lever not fully retracting to its resting position. Loosen the bolt on the front lever a bit, that did the trick. Don`t forget to put a little of fixing gel (blue) on the bolt as the bolt is quite loose. Off coourse it can be also some issue with your rear break pedal connection switch but you might to try this first

I agree with Ducej.  I had the same problem with my 07 S2R, light would always stay on.  I took it to the dealer and a tech loosen the front lever contact and has worked fine ever since.

turn the bike on and trace the rear brake switch to the plug (should be right around the vertical belt cover) and unplug that. if that has no affect then its something in the front.
