On the other hand:
Riding a motorcycle naked may be legal in Sweden.
 Shocked
Unless the rider fails to wear a helmet.
Whew, what a relief; it's still Sweden.

The helmet strapped to the tail is the most amusing thing I can't come to grips with.

Could be an Aggie who after the accident puts the helmet on? Just sayin...

Well, there ya go, wouldn't want to sweat in something that nice....   cheeky

Great googlie mooglie i bought an Arai helmet last night in Plano off an ex-racer (the wife excuse) and the helmet smelled like a gorilla cage! I'll be writing a step by step explaination later on how to wash an Arai helmet and disinfect it. Contrary to popular belief you CAN wash the inside of an Arai and not have it fall apart. Thanks Dax for the idea but the pads did not come out. All is better this morning.

Obviously not on this model. The innards are stuck to the side with some monster gorilla glue won't budge unless I take out some of the foam underneath the pads. This is my first association with Arai. These two are the first Arai helmets I've ever owned. In one helmet the cheek pads come out the other (gorilla glued) doen't. Interesting thing about Arai Marty at AMS told me is that the helmets are submerged at the place where Ducati puts the stickers on their helmets in order to get the Ducati decals positioned correctly. They are all done by hand by 5-6 people who only put out 12 helmets a day. In fact his Nicky Haden replica has some very cool evidence of handiwork. The points of the stars in the back of the helmet do not line up perfectly.

Local fish at the Arai replica shop can be quite a nuisance, sometimes swimming off with the decals, and slowing down production

Ask and you shall receive.  Spent 3 hours this morning stripping 8 lbs of uselessness off of it.

I would be reticent to buy a used helmet, regardless of brand, from someone I didn't personally know. Meaning that I know they took care of it and how old it was.

Red, I don't know if it that's the case here or not. I don't know who this ex-racer is or anything about them. Arai's have the date of manufacture on the non-buckle chin strap. There will be a small piece of white cloth (about half the size of a postage stamp) sewn onto the strap. It will have the date on it, like 12/07, etc. The older Arai's had it stamped in the leather part of the chin strap. I have an older race replica made on 10/95 that I hang onto as a keepsake, I don't wear it. Threw all of my old Freddie Spencer and Kevin Schwantz helmets away long ago... WAY past sell by date!

Anything that has been used regularly (especially in hot sweaty TX weather!) and is over 5 years old I would avoid. If it was bought five years ago and left in it's box and placed in a closet away from the elements I might consider buying that one. They have made several models of helmets over the years but most of the modern ones have removable innards.

Check the strap date. waytogo Ohhh, I've got a great deal for you on a silver/gray Edwards replica Corsair... don't mind the feathers and unidentifiable dried on goo! laughingdp
