My guess is it would look a lot like the 900 with it, but just a more round tank.

Alright, here's some shots of lots of things I have found cool over the years.

Like the refined Monster-tank shape by RoadRacing, there were equally cool modifications to fairings for the other bikes. Then some hardcore guys who put those fairings on bikes they were not really intended for.

Monsters:

Supersports with Supermono Bodywork ["Superdue"]

On an '89 SS!, part ZX14 fairings mixed in!

MEEEE TOOO.

Those MBP heads are what I want on my M900. But I've got the newer style cylinders which don't use external oil return lines (also notice that's older than a '98, given the small alternator case cover), so I won't have to pay for those fancy-ass cam end covers he produces. See the billet front 40mm brakes? wowza.

The yellow bike uses, I think, a standard supersport front fairing, but check out the red one, above. Its slightly different, made to run by itself and is from Kaemna.de

The monster in orange is fasterblkduc's on here, and there's a tutorial about mounting up the bodywork. The black one uses a 748/9*6/998 body. It would look ten times better if it were painted. Notice they used rubber hose brackets to mount the fairings to the frame tubes on that one, instead of welding brackets on. Still have to come up with a front support, which could be machined at the local machine shop pretty easy it seems. Big bracket with hole in it to go around headstock, and vertical member with bolt holes

Let's start with your bike and see the finished product.  It would be fun to swap from fairings to no fairings when you felt like it

Wouldnt that be hard to do on a monster given the big round headlight?

Yeah, it certainly wouldn't be a trivial task. Take a good hour or so, with all the wiring and such to the front, disassembly, then putting the new stuff on. Don't think it would be too difficult if it was for trackdays and you were trailering it there though.

Has anyone seen a 900ss with 749/999 race body?  I have, but cant find it online.  I have a full set of race plastics now, but would love to try and fit them to the 900.  I also have a red painted cf 900 race tail that could go on the rear instead of trying to fit the 999 tail.  I have an extra mono 749/999 subframe if anyone is interested.  Lisa, think you could fit the race body?

Sorry... late to the party as usual.  Just checked this thread  bang head  But yes, I can probably fit all the pieces together.  In fact, I've always wanted to do a project like this so I would enjoy the opportunity to work with you  waytogo

Just remember the old racing addage; your speed on track is limited only by time and cubic dollars  Evil
