Have a good lunch at Smoke. I may ride to Back Nine
on Beltway about 8. Also, Rocky Patel is at the
smoke shop on Beltway & Midway Thurs.
Off to work

Rocky? In Dallas? Again? He likes this place I think. I may have to ride over to meet you there if I can grab some kitchen points. New roof going on the house this though so I'll have to see how much time is needed on that front.

Actually, this is more in my price range, especially once I factor in the $2.50 I'll get in trade for the Guzzi:

Has anyone had any dealings with Southwest Superbikes?

You might speak with one guy on this board named after the suitcase or something like that about his 900ss. I know it's had a thourough race prep and a sparkling new paint job recently. He might be persuaded to let it go. That would be my personal choice FWIW. That 999R is very suspect to me. The mirrors will cost you @(ESC) *193.00. I'd be looking at the mirror holders themselves because they break easily ($130.00) and main frame itself would have to be lasered @ AMS for that price. Then again you could offer up $6000.00 and be done with it.  waytogo

Yeah, I'm interested in a cruiser or sport tourer to replace my Guzzi but I still look at Ducs; thought someone might be interested in those two.  Not sure what I'm going to do but so far I've ridden: '09 1200C Sportster, '08 Dyna Glide, '09 Triumph Thunderbird and Speedmaster; '08 (new) Moto Guzzi Norge; BMW K1200S; Ducati Hypermotard; and last but not least, the "old" generation Multistrada S.

I'm keeping the Ducati superbike so I'm leaning towards something a little less caffeinated - as webspoke would say  Grin - to replace the MG.

Yep.  I know that Raider is badass.  The other one to throw into the mix that I really like from a stylistic standpoint is the M109R.

One of the things though that has been a deal breaker on the Thunderbird and Dyna Glide is the width of the tank where it meets the seat; seat too wide and it makes it hard to put legs down at a stop.

The "Peanut" and Speedmaster are perfect in that respect - very narrow.  Of course any Ducati will be in the same ballpark width-wise.

Unless I come across something really spectacular, I'm looking primarily at the Sportster and Multistrudel.
Eurosport in Fort Worth has an '06 all black Multi 1000 S that fits the profile so I'm going to look at that today or tomorrow.  AMS also said they might have one or two they could locate so I'm not making any decisions yet.

If you haven't ridden the old Multi, its fantastic. Upright riding position, comfortable bar reach. It feels very nimble, the 1000DS wheelies without issue. Bags/Bags/Bags. And you can get a knee down on the track.
