Exhaust brain-storming

I've been tooling around with creating another custom exhaust for my monster for what seems like years now. Anyways, I've got a host of mods planned that just need to get done but it all hinges around changing the exhaust in the process. I'm really a fan of bikes that have a solid and mechanical looking profile which initially attracted me to the ex-box, the problem is I've got no desire to pay anyone anything for an exhaust. I started by making a few cardboard models just incorporating the look I wanted from various peoples work and other outside inspiration. Today I decided to model some of the ideas i've been throwing around in Google's SketchUp 3d design program. Long story short, here are some pictures
Keep in mind that these are not to scale nor have I used any real measurements, these are still in the idea stage and need lots of tweaking. I'm partial to the double box design myself, I think it would look pretty damn awesome if it took up all the space from the back of the motor to the bottom of the swingarm and all the way back to the tire. Anyways, Just wondering what everyone thoughts, suggestions etc. might be.

Stainless steel would probably be the only material you should use. The problem becomes welding it together. the slits look werid, but im more intrested in how it would sound. Im sure you could just get an exbox and do a mock up of it.

I'd probably end up using a fairly thing guage stainless but I'm going to make a test unit in mild first, Probably coat it with something so it won't rust.
Edit: they also won't just be hollow boxes, going to utilize some system of perforated pipe and some form of muffler packing, maybe rock wool. I think anyways....

very creative. What bike(model) are you aiming at? I will assume this is for an aircooled model since it appears that the sump of the S4r would interfere.
Personnally i like to see the tubes, and i am not a fan of the exbox.
So with that said is performance a concern? you will scavange more power from your monster if you have the pipes crossover at 23" from the exhaust valves. This measurement should be the same for the front and rear cylinder to work properly due to the v-twins firing order. Even if you hide the spaghetti pipes in the boxes. After the cross over it will make little difference what you do from there as long as you don't shrink the pipe size.
good luck

yep, 750 for now...although I'd like to do some sort of swap in the future. Performance is a concern but I'm not focusing on it at this point, It seems like a crossover should be pretty simple to add so I'll have to look into that.
