"Regretfully, the security video does not go back to the 25th of January.  It ordinarily will retain approximately a month of coverage, but I know there have been some power surges that might have affected the retention.  I can see on the video starting on the 26th that the motorcycle is already in the wrong place (moved up from where it is usually parked).

I don’t know if coverage is stored on the periodic backup of the system.  I’ll have to find out from the vendor.  I’ll let you know shortly if it is or not."

Very sorry to hear. I definitely feel your pain though. January 20th, the day after my birthday, I walked out of my Apt. down to my truck and found my bike STILL laying on its side. NO video cameras. I figure some drunks probably tried to sit on it. Nothing I could do about it. The tank was dented, the bar lock was shot, the clutch cover was scuffed and lots of other goodies snapped off. Ended up talking to the insurance company, they totaled the bike but I ended up with more than what I payed for. So keep your head up, you never know how things will turn out.

Seems suspicious to me.  Have you ruled out the building management as being responsible?

My thoughts exactly.  Everyone is a suspect until proven otherwise.

Maybe you could post a note in the buildings and on the bike, asking for the cooperation of the unlucky person before the video is turned over to the police. Worth a try?
