Chicks dig scars.  ;)

Yes they do.

I have one scar in particular that's my wife's favorite.  ;D

Har har.  >:(

It was a 9" wheel.  ;D

(And it was a disc of 1/2" stainless plate. I was true-ing up the edges with the grinder because I couldn't find any tungsten carbide tools for the lathe.)

Nakid, you remember when I smashed my thumb with a hammer and sent you a picture asking if I needed to worry about it?

I'll never forget that one.

So, I finally got a chance to finish up the piece I was working on when I chewed up my arm.

The Pro Circuit T4 is infamous for being deafeningly loud. Not good if you're riding someplace you don't want to draw attention to yourself.

It's a good bit quieter now, and it definitely took the sharp crack out of the exhaust sound.

Now that I know it works, I'll probably buy a 1/2" aluminum bar to make another one that's lighter. I just happened to have a 1/2" stainless plate sitting around, so that's what I made the prototype out of.

Nice work  [thumbsup].....but I don't understand the meaning of 'too loud'  [evil]
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

"Too loud" means "running from the cops" when you're riding places where you're not supposed to be.  :-\

Just a quick report -

make the beast with two backsing busy.  First quarter this year was the best qtr ever.  April was good.  May was down but still good.  Im not sure where June will end up but I think we're ok (meaning we made more than we spent)

Had a good friend come to work for me in March then leave in May for more $$$.  Can't blame him, single dad, needs good bene's etc.  He did decent work but also scrapped some stuff for me that was a couple grand in total.  We found out about all that after he left.  Stupid mistakes on both accounts but such is life.

Needed to replace him so we hired a 19yo guy from the tech school.  They specifically teach manual and cnc machining there.  He's really great so far.  Smart, good attention to detail, retains what you tell him pretty much immediately and seems to care about what he's doing.

I think we got a good deal with him and I hope he stays.

Well, anyway, lots of shit to get done.  I'm working second shift tonight to try and help get us out of trouble.  Running production on two mills and one lathe and I'm whooped.

I'm also sleeping here tonight.  That way when I wake up I can go right back to it.

Arbeit Macht Frei!!

I had to. It was 87 with 90+% humidity.

It was not a dry heat.

Well, it was 70 and nice outside. The shop has no exterior walls and sucky air flow.

Also, the lathe I was running was hauling the mail. I boiled off 10 gallons of coolant (as steam basically) in the 10 hrs I ran it.

It was like a sauna, inside a green house in here.
