I do like Ace more (and go there when I'm looking for a biker bar), but I'm kinda wedded to the tradition of meeting at Zeitgeist.  Besides, Zeitgeist is way better for those random weird encounters that make for awesome stories.

Remember the trannie who wanted some of Tigre?  What about the tattooed, nude model from the other meet?  Or the time we were all obliterated (with out of town guest who'd only heard of Zeitgeist) and two dozen people came in wearing furry costumes and started doing shots?  What about the time Derby got kicked out for ordering a hamburger?   Or the multiple times that then-DMLers got hammered and then had sex on the floor (sometimes with an air mattress, sometimes without) of my then-apartment?  Or the time I rode 'belle's bike a block up the sidewalk to my garage cuz she was too hammered to walk straight, to say nothing of ride?  Or the time 'belle drank all the "found beer" in the joint?

I could go on (and I'm sure I'm missing a buncha gems that aren't immediately coming to mind), but that's why I have an affinity for the 'geist.

Anyone else have the song "The Way We Were" running through their mind while reading Spidey's post?

That was absolutely classic, I'll never forget it!  laughingdp

Zeitgeist has Sutter Home red in airplane bottles. Ace has a freaking selection of wine. Zeitgeist FTW.  Vino!

But for a small corkage fee you can bring your own bottle, furry, doobie, homebrew, or trany.

I've only paid a fee to cork a tranny. Never to uncork one.  I think I'm gonna need a diagram to figure out how that works.

Typical.   Roll Eyes  Immigrants trying to take away American jobs.  If I want to cork a tranny, I'll go to Polk Street and get one from the good ole US of A.   Gawdammit.

You should try the imports, cheaper, more efficient, long term reliability.

Cool, I'll pick up bad-cop leathers & accoutrement for the first one & head to toe fur for the second.  Whaddya think - a mouse suit? Or stick to traditional feline?
Hmmm, maybe he'd prefer two cats, no cop...

Ah, Zeitgeist. So many good times...

I just wish I could still take pictures there.
