Hey guys,

How much does it cost to put a single side swing arm on a 2011 696? Where do you buy one?

Best do a search sir...

He says where he got the swingarm from on the first post...

Less than the difference in MSRP between a 696 and a 796...and like stickers, the swingarm doesnt at any ponies.

Although this statement IS true, and the first response when someone asks/suggests the swap the reality is this:  Even if you were to sell your 696 just to get a 796 with a SSS, you would have to sell it for a large chunk less than MSRP- so the actual gap is far more substantial, making the swap for someone who wants "the look" and perhaps has already modded their 696 more reasonable...

I agree 100%  I was in that exact situation myself but had a very unique set of circumstances that worked out for me.  Never the less...for someone that is looking at buying one new...just saying...

On a side note...theres a spiffy looking magnesium SSS available...so if your looking to do the conversion...why not spend the $4300 someodd bucks on that one??   waytogo waytogo

The bike looks great!  Seeing it has exacerbated my serious case of SSS envy Evil.

Merry Christmas everybody. I'm back home for a couple weeks, uncovered the bike, started it up for ya. Its pretty cold here but I wanted to update you with a video of the mods done to it. If the link doesn't work, ill try fixing it later. If you have questions about the bike, please refer to earlier pages in this post.

Curious, and I hope the OP is still out there. Did you buy the speedo healer  for the 696 or a 4 magnet model, are you using ABS? Is there any known considerations for ABS use?  Did you need a different chain? Cheers .

On a side note. I'll be selling this bike in a few weeks when i get back from deployment. I live in San Diego if anybody is in the area and interested in looking at it. Its been started and ridden while I've been on deployment so its still in great shape. PM if you'd like.
